What the general scholarship asks for

The Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship lists eligibility by degree level and age rather than by work history. Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the PRC and in good health. Age limits depend on the level applied for: under 25 for undergraduate, under 35 for master's, and under 40 for doctoral programmes. The list does not mention work experience. Its language and test items, such as the HSK and CSCA, are separate from work history.
