Chinese Government Scholarship for applicants in Poland: the Chinese Embassy's 2026/2027 call

Sources checked · Unofficial summary

Applications for the 2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship from Poland were collected by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Poland. You completed the application online in the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System, then sent the same documents as one electronic package to education@chinaembassy.org.pl before 16 February 2026; the embassy then emailed an interview invitation to applicants whose files met all requirements. The notice does not say how many places were offered or what the scholarship covered.

This page describes that one document: "Call for 2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship Application", published by the embassy on 24 October 2025. Its dates belong to the 2026/2027 intake and have passed. The next call will come from the same embassy; its dates and terms are unknown until that notice is published, and nothing here should be read as a prediction that they will repeat.

Who received the applications

The embassy in Poland received the applications and ran the interview. For inquiries it gave the email address education@chinaembassy.org.pl and a telephone line (22 8315823, weekdays 9.00–12.00 and 14.30–17.30). For information about the scholarship, the procedure and China's universities, the notice points to www.campuschina.org.

How the application was submitted

The notice sets out two steps that go together:

  • Online submission in the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System, following the instructions attached to the notice as "Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship Information System".
  • An electronic package of the same documents emailed to education@chinaembassy.org.pl, with the subject line "2026/27 China Government Scholarship Application- Name of the Applicant", before 16 February 2026.

The notice's appendix records Category A and Agency Number 6161 for this call; it does not explain how the agency number is used during submission. The notice does not mention posting paper copies anywhere, only the online submission and the emailed package.

Who was eligible

To be eligible, applicants had to be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China and be in good health both mentally and physically, and to meet the degree, age and language conditions of the level they applied for. They also had to meet the admission requirements of the universities they applied to in terms of academic ability, language proficiency and other relevant criteria.

The notice does not restrict the call to Polish citizens in so many words, and it does not define who may apply through the embassy in Poland beyond the conditions above.

Levels, degrees, ages and language requirements

Level Degree required Age Chinese proficiency (Chinese-taught)
Undergraduate High school graduate Under 25 HSK 3 (applicants studying Chinese language are exempted)
Master's Bachelor's degree holder Under 35 HSK 4
Doctoral Master's degree holder Under 40 HSK 4
General scholar High school graduate at least Under 45 HSK 3 (applicants studying Chinese language are exempted)
Senior scholar Master's degree holder, or associate professor or above Under 50 HSK 3

Applicants for bachelor's programmes also had to take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) and upload a valid score report. The notice says bachelor's applicants had to register for and take the CSCA before the application deadline, and that those intending to enrol in September 2026 were required to register for and take it on 21 December 2025 or 25 January 2026. It tells applicants to contact the target institution for the test subjects required by the applied major.

For programmes taught in a language other than Chinese, the notice asks for language proficiency certificates according to the universities' requirements, giving IELTS or TOEFL reports as examples.

What the notice says about places and coverage

It says nothing about either. The number of places and what the scholarship pays for are not stated in this document, so they are not stated here.

Documents

The notice lists these:

  • Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, in Chinese or English.
  • A clear scanned copy of the passport home page, of an ordinary passport valid later than 1 March 2026.
  • Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners submit official proof of student status from their current school instead. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English need notarized Chinese or English translations.
  • Academic transcripts, with notarized Chinese or English translations where the original is in another language.
  • Language qualification certificates: valid HSK reports for Chinese-taught programmes, or the relevant certificates for other language-taught programmes.
  • CSCA score report, for bachelor's applicants.
  • Pre-admission documents: all applicants must provide one, such as a pre-admission notice from the university's international student admission department or an invitation letter from a school or professor.
  • A study plan or research proposal in Chinese or English: at least 200 words for undergraduates, 500 for non-degree students and 800 for postgraduates.
  • Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors, for graduate and senior scholar programmes.
  • Examples of art, for art or design majors, uploaded through "Example of Art/Other Supporting Documents" in the system or sent to the university directly.
  • Valid documents of the applicant's legal guardians in China, for applicants under 18.
  • A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English, for stays of more than six months. The original stays with the applicant, the form comes from the dispatching authority, all listed items must be covered, and records missing the physician's signature, the hospital stamp or a sealed photograph are invalid. The result is valid for six months.
  • A non-criminal record certificate from the local public security authority, usually issued within six months before the application is submitted.

Uploaded documents had to be clear, authentic and valid; the notice warns that applicants bear the consequences of unclear or unidentifiable uploads and recommends scanning with a professional device.

The dates of that cycle

Step Date in the 2026/2027 call
Online submission and emailed document package Before 16 February 2026
Email invitation to the online interview Before 18 February 2026
Confirmation of attendance by email Before 17:00 on 20 February 2026
Online interview Before 25 February 2026

The notice states that late submission, insufficient documents and a missing confirmation email excluded an applicant from further review automatically. It describes the interview as a preliminary review and a way to verify eligibility.

Questions people ask

Did I have to be a Polish citizen?

The notice does not say so. It requires applicants to be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and it was the embassy in Poland that received applications and documents. Beyond that, the notice does not define who could apply through Poland.

Did the notice say how many places were available or what the scholarship covered?

No. Neither the number of places nor the coverage appears in this document, so no figure is given here.

Did applicants have to post paper documents?

The notice describes an online submission and an emailed electronic package. It does not mention sending paper copies by post.

Was the HSK required for an English-taught programme?

The notice attaches HSK levels to Chinese-taught programmes only. For programmes taught in another language it asks for the certificates the university requires, naming IELTS and TOEFL reports as examples.

Do I need the CSCA?

Only for a bachelor's degree, according to the notice. It requires bachelor's applicants to sit the CSCA before the application deadline and to upload a valid score report; the graduate, general scholar and senior scholar levels are not mentioned in that requirement.

When will the next call open?

The notice for the next intake will be published by the embassy in Poland. Its dates and its terms are not known until then, and the dates above should not be carried forward to it.
